Abstract. The role of a modern diplomat in the world and in international relations. His duties and contribution to politics, what qualities he should have and his participation in solving global problems.

A modern diplomat is a highly qualified specialist in the field of international relations who represents his country as an ambassador to other countries, as well as a specialist who knows the laws, the rights of politicians and how international relations work. The work of a modern diplomat requires a lot of effort to make changes in foreign policy, the desire for peace and the demonstration of the interests of their country. To date, the work of a diplomat has become very difficult, requiring him to be highly competent in his fields and competitive. Also, a modern diplomat should not only be a master of protocol and an experienced negotiator, but also know the economy, culture and other spheres of other countries. Currently, the work of a diplomat has become even more competitive, therefore, one of the main characteristics is excellent communication skills, the ability to find compromises and erudition. He must be aware of world trends, have knowledge of his own and other cultures and traditions, speak foreign languages and be open to other cultures in order to easily interact between representatives of other countries.

Modern diplomats should also be able to work with new technologies, use social networks  other means of communication to improve the exchange of information and contacts with colleagues in other countries. In addition, modern diplomats should be able to adapt to rapidly changing global conditions. Climate change, terrorism, pandemics and many other global challenges require new approaches and strategies. Diplomats should be flexible and creative in solving these complex problems. The diplomatic service requires a high qualifications, erudition and tolerance. It includes a wide range of functions, including participation in international negotiations and ending with the signing of peace agreements, conflict resolution and support for citizens abroad. The words of a diplomat have consequences, so he must be able to negotiate and express his thoughts competently. Modern diplomats also play an important role in crisis situations, representing their countries and contributing to the resolution of global conflicts. Diplomats should be aware of the latest developments in the world, analyze their impact on your country and propose appropriate action strategies. Their decisions and suggestions should be based on in-depth knowledge and a thorough analysis of the situation.  Diplomacy is also connected with the dissemination of the country's culture and language across borders, they are a kind of cultural ambassadors. By introducing the world to the richness and beauty of their culture, they promote the exchange of knowledge and traditions between countries, strengthening ties and friendly relations. Modern diplomats also mediate in international disputes and their resolution. Its mission is to find diplomatic ways to achieve peace and harmony, while avoiding military conflicts and violence. He is the guarantor of peace and stability on the world stage. Since the world is changing rapidly, diplomats should be able to adapt quickly to these changes. Also be able to adapt to different cultural characteristics and traditions, while showing tolerance and respect for other cultures and religions. It should be noted that modern diplomats are not limited to traditional methods of diplomatic work. With the development of technology, diplomats get the opportunity to use new tools for communication and interaction with the world community. The Internet and social networks provide opportunities for direct dialogue with citizens of other countries, facilitating the exchange of views and promoting understanding of international relations. But one of the most important qualities of diplomats is an analytical mindset skills and work in crisis situations. He must be able to analyze complex world events, predict possible consequences and make informed decisions. Skills in working with non-governmental organizations are also important, since modern diplomacy involves interaction with international organizations, non-governmental associations and the private sector. The peacemaking role of a diplomat A modern diplomat often faces crisis situations and conflicts. Its role is to find diplomatic solutions to resolve conflicts and establish peace. He must have strategic thinking and be able to offer innovative approaches to resolving international disputes. The peacemaking role of a diplomat is to maintain peace and stability on the world stage.

Angela Merkel was born on July 17 , 1954 .  In the late 1980s, after the fall of the Berlin Wall, A. Merkel became a politician. In 1989 she joined, and in 1990 became secretary of the organization Democratic Breakthrough (Demokratischer Aufbruch). A few months later, she became deputy press secretary in the first non-communist government of the GDR, headed by Lothar de Maiziere. She won the election, and in fact won this constituency in every election until 2017. She was initially appointed as Minister for Women and Youth. Merkel was then successively promoted to increasingly senior positions in the CDU. She served as Minister for the Environment from 1994 to 1998, and General Secretary of the CDU from 1998 to 2000. In 2000, she was elected chairperson of the CDU, becoming the first woman to lead a German political party. Merkel’s approach to politics was one of pragmatism, compromise, and alliance building. Domestically, she often sought to build broad coalitions around her policies, and she was often praised for taking a moderate line on many issues. Internationally, she developed close working relationships with many world leaders, including former U.S. President Barack Obama. Merkel is known for being chancellor of Germany from 2005 to 2021. She was the first woman to lead the country and the second-longest-serving chancellor in Germany’s history.
